Trakai, the former capital of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, nowadays is one of the most tourist visited places in the country and is located only 28 km away from Vilnius. Trakai is famous for its insular Castle on the lake, the red brick medieval architectural monument from the end of the XIV century and now part of Trakai History Museum, housing expositions, which reflect the history of the town, its castles and land. Thus, we invite you to visit Trakai and admire its historical heritage and its beautiful nature!
During the tour you will visit the Trakai Insular Castle and afterwards have time for an optional boat ride or for acquiring some Lithuanian souvenirs and perhaps trying some local authentic food specialities of a small ethnic group Karaites (Karaim), brought by the Grand Duke Vytautas from the Crimea in the XIV century.
